Music That Glorifies Our God
2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
Hebrews 2:12 “Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.”
Psalm 7:17 “I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.”
All of our music is designed to fulfill one primary purpose: bringing honor and praise to Jehovah, the one true God. Music is a powerful tool that we use to prepare hearts to hear from Heaven and to glorify God for all He gives us.
Preaching That Motivates Our Members
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”
1 Corinthians 14:3 “But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.”
The Bible spells out several benefits of preaching. Preaching is not meant to discourage the sinners in this world. Without sinners, there would be no one left to do the preaching. At High Street Baptist Church, God uses preaching to encourage Christians to put Him first in their lives and to exclaim the loving forgiveness that Jesus offers to anyone who will accept His free gift of salvation.
