Welcome to High Street Christian Academy

History of HSCA

High Street Christian Academy was started in 1976 by Dr. Charles E. Mainous as a ministry of High Street Baptist Church.  Since its founding, HSCA has sought to maintain a spirit of excellence in all that it does, as well as continue to progress by pursuing new spiritual heights and academic excellence.

Academic program

HSCA trains boys and girls in a controlled Christian atmosphere from grades K-5 through twelfth.  The Bible is taught not only as a class, but all subjects are taught as they are related to the Bible.  We use the A Beka Curriculum in all classroom instruction.  Secular texts are not adapted to Christian training.  We incorporate the Stanford Test in our evaluation of the progress of our students each year.  We endeavor to prepare the students for college or to enter the modern work place.

Our Emphasis

The Bible is at the very core of all instructions, corrections, and examples at HSCA.  Our spiritual training is the most effective training we could ever receive.  HSCA places the emphasis on teaching a student how to live the Christian life, not now to make a living.  Therefore, we expect each student to be an active member of a local, fundamental, New Testament church.

Our Philosophy of Christian Education

We believe the purpose of HSCA is to assist the parents in their God-given responsibility of educating their child by providing a Christ-centered environment where students are trained spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.  God gave to parents the ultimate responsibility of training their children, however, He has also provided the local church and Christian School to assist them in their endeavors.  With this three-way relationship working together, we can see the child grow to become the Christian God desires them to be, fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives

Sports and Extra Curricular Activities

HSCA views the sports program as an opportunity to instill character in the students, teaching them to maintain a strong Christian testimony, and develop their physical skills.  We offer boys football and basketball, girls can choose to participate in volleyball and cheerleading.  Our students have the opportunity to compete at the state level in sports and academics.  Each year our students participate in a Fine Arts Competition.

Christian education doesn’t cost, it pays!

The Christian school is most effective in the lives of the students who come from the strongest Christian homes.  Make your home more Christian and your children will get more out of the school.
